#inktober Day 28 Ride 10/28/19

oh, this is just a sketch...and I forgot the tail...the reference is a Greek bronze, but I don't know if it is ancient, a replica, or a modern original...but it is really cool and I haven't done it justice...

#inktober Days 25, 26 Tasty, Dark 10/26/19

it is no simple thing, for me, to draw along with the youtube drawalongs...this to say my critical eye sees how off I get from the reference!...but, as the Pusheen Cat reference drawalong puts it...'it's for fun, and practice'...and I have as much fun copying as I do being original...drawing like walking, on an old well traveled path, or a new one-still much fun...

#inktober Day 21 Treasure 10/21/19

Disney's Scrooge McDuck from youtube reference...I could see problems, for me, reference was pencil sketch shaded, so hard to pick out simple lines-not like the draw alongs!...though the beginning was so...I gesture sketched on typing paper, then worked it up in pencil, and left off to ink too soon...Scrooge's head too low and to right, or something, and other things too!...this why I did it on typing paper...but now I have Scrooge in my mental archive along with the others!...much fun...

#inktober Day 15 Legend 10/15/19

thinking on prompt 'legend', I went to Legend of Sleepy Hollow...Ichabod too close to home, so, considered legendary animals/people...mermaids...but couldn't find a good draw along, and then, unicorns...and, again couldn't find a good draw along...so, thought 'horses', and of course, plenty of draw alongs...latched on to Alphonso Dunn's horses head instruction clip on youtube...and, scribbled away on typing paper again...sharpie fine line, with some nasal drip!...Alphonso relates he has done thousands and thousands of practice drawings...which I can't admit to, but should...thing is, I've been using canson board to draw on, and expensive water color paper, and, the worry of messing up, and the thought to do something bangup like all the other inktoberers, kind of obscures that in fact I don't know what I'm doing!...so, so sharpies and typing paper a good way to go, first things first!...lol...

#inktober Day 14 Overgrown 10/14/19

After much looking, I found my reference for prompt 'overgrown'...it's a face in the jungle on Disney's Jungle Boat ride...found in google images...and I cant do it justice...thought to do ink wash on watercolor paper, then just to outline on typing paper, and then, then I just got to scribbling to find the values...and thought...go with this!...lol...

#inktober Day13 Ash 10/13/19

#inktober Day 13 Ash 10/13/19 in mind the prompt 'ash' I thought baseball bats, as they are made from ash trees, sometimes maple...so, and then, Casey at the Bat...found good reference on web...watched Disney's cartoon...then, looked about, remembering the pen ink illustrations on cards and in sports pages...found cartoonist Gotto...Ted Williams-the Splendid Splinter...and, and then got to watching animation instruction clips...light tables and flipping and inbetweens...and the afternoon was gone, evaporated by the usual chores and things too...so, so, with time to midnight short, I went with ash-bat sketch on typing paper!...lol...no one can divert like I can!

#inktober Day 12 Dragon 10/12/19

another draw along from the same youtube channel for 'Squirt'...this is Toothless from Disney...I was going to ink wash it...Toothless is all black...but it seemed problematic!...so, I colored it...purple with some other colors...but then in photoshop made it black and white...it's problematic too to draw in real time with the sharpie along with the instruction video...I hit pause a lot...and go this way with a line instead of that a way!...but, I didn't use a pencil sketch, so, this is good exercise to draw direct with the pen like the instructor does!

#inktober Day 6 Husky 10/6/19

I tried to do the charcoal drawing of Maya, my husky/shepherd mix, with ink wash...been awhile since I messed with wet in wet watercolor...it doesn't much look like her...she is mostly black with white face, eyebrows, and chest and paws-the usual pattern...but it certainly looks like her looking at me in both renderings!...lol...Husky/Sheperds crave attention, and run to folk for pets and hugs and play...

#Inktober Day One Ring

Well, nothings working right on the computer...simple copy/paste and the text centering goes awry...wanted to write after the pic, but will try writing before...it's the first day of Inktober!...and the prompt for today is RING...Inktober, if one goes by the prompts, is a lot like the game "draw something", except in Inktober one uses traditional ink tools, brushes/pens...though some do use computer graphic tools...I missed last year's...and kinda skated on today's, though drawing a ring/circle with a Chinese brush has some import...to make it 'something', I closed my eyes...the drawing is one of those Zen things I went on about in a post aways back...brb...

quote

In Zen, ensō (, , "circle") is a circle that is hand-drawn in one or two uninhibited brushstrokes to express a moment when the mind is free to let the body create.

unquote

so, when is a circle more than a circle?...when it is an enso...lol...onward...

:)
