I have been thoroughly enjoying the conversations and discussions I've been having as Author of the Month for January 2012 on the Graham Hancock website. The quality of the comments and insights that other participants have offered has been consistently excellent, and the discourse has been very valuable to me, helping me see the issues from different perspectives and offering many new avenues for future exploration.

Debunking some claims about Druidry
Due to the eccentric theories of the poet Robert Graves in The White Goddess (1948), it is common among druids to regard the script as a mystical or occult ‘tree alphabet’, because a minority of the letters are named after trees.
... ... ...
most of the names are not, in fact, trees, and never have been. Further, the idea that the alphabet is a tree-calendar, in which each tree/letter corresponds to a lunar month, has developed, and even spawned a kind of ersatz Celtic astrology, in which the ‘tree-months’ are imagined as resembling the signs of the zodiac.
... ... ...
3) The poet Taliesin was not 'the last Celtic shaman'. Likewise, the Book of Taliesin is not a repository of ancient druidical wisdom.

that's a neat 'bow' around a 'package'...a thought of how an overrun culture adapts to the conquering culture...this is a hark to how the Mesoamericans and Andeans may have altered their stories of Kukulkan and Veracocha to blend with the Christian Spanish story of Jesus...
quote
Perhaps you’ve noticed some similarities between Viracocha and other mythical figures from different regions and times. Many cultures, especially in South and Central America have a central figure that fits the bill. The Mayans called him Kukulkan, and the Aztecs called him Quetzalcoatl (The God whose return they mistook for Cortes’ conquest). The names change, but the stories are the same.
Across vast oceans and thousands of years, parallels can also be drawn between the legends of Viracocha and other familiar stories. In Egypt, Thoth does exactly for the primitive people what Viracocha did in South America. The Incan deity shares many characteristics with Osiris as well. In ancient Sumerian lore, the god Enki is a very close match. Even Jesus Christ displays many traits similar to those of Viracocha–the beard, the robe, walking on water, bringing civilization, etc.

Viracocha is often depicted with his lower body covered in fish scales. Some have even postulated that he was a member of some advanced aquatic species, citing the brain capacity and communication methods of cetaceans, such as whales and dolphins.

Beside the bearded statue was a much larger statue Bennett's report as "the large monolithic statue" and is over 24 feet tall. It was sculpted out of red sandstone, and is covered with carved images of various kinds. He holds objects in each hand which are totally unidentifiable, although numerous interpretations have been suggested. The lower half of its body, which is covered with fish-scales (which upon close inspection are actually fish-heads). Immediately one recalls the Mesopotamian deity called Oannes, the man-fish amphibious being who conveyed special knowledge to ancient mankind. The statue has been removed from the site and now stands in a plaza in La Paz.

this kind of a no brainer...everyone knows since Lily's book Mind in the Waters that Dolphins are telepathic...
quote
J: I still want to talk to them. That was part of problem and still is.
AS: What would you ask them?
J: The history of the planet,. They’re been around for 25 million years and probably have teaching stories that go way back like the Masi in Africa do. [Masi Merra is a nomadic tribe in Narobi,Kenya, Africa] When Richard Llewellyn stayed with the Masi, heard their stories, he went and [looked ] up a Greek historian who had gotten the teaching stories of the Masi 2000 years before and they were exactly the same. So there is an oral verbal tradition that can carry over years.
... ... ...
K When John and I take people out for a dolphin/whale adventure we get the whole group together to meditate and come up with one symbol. Then when we go out in the ocean and dive down we focus on that one symbol and send it out like an image to the dolphins and whales. Because I believe one way to communicate with them is telepathically.
J: Right, in visual images, There was a trainer in New Zealand who use to swim besides dolphins and [he would just] visualize what he wanted them to do and they would do it.
