It is also interesting to note that the Olmec seem to have felt a kind of fascination for those individuals affected by deformities as shown in their representations. Lacking scientific knowledge, it is possible that all sorts of mystical concepts were used to evaluate or explain deformities. This type of behavior was also characteristic of later cultures and was commented upon by the Spaniards who found the emperor Montezuma surrounded by hunchbacks and dwarfs. The Olmec left a generous number of figurines representing different kinds of deformities, such as dwarfs, hunchbacks, and even indi­viduals with leper-like characteristics.

Notes:...Game on...on the radio...Royals at Angels...Royal 3, Angels 1...bottom of sixth...Ward waps a lead off home run...and ties it up...Royals 2, Angels 2...Trout up...and Trout waps a home run...Angels 3-2...browsing, I happened on a Peruvian modern artist who has a show of her paintings that are a take on the Moche ceramic drawings-the Lime Bean warriors some of them..."back to back to back"...Ohtani waps a home run too!...Royals 2, Angels 4...Renfroe up...Royal hit one too, top of seventh...Royals 3, Angels 4...I've gone on about the Olmec Growl before, and happened on Vicky Arana's Moche paintings, and noted the growls!...they're a takes on the originals, but faithful to them in details, like the growl...bottom of eighth...Trout with double...Ohtani legs out an infield single...runners at corners, no outs...considering "Lacking scientific knowledge, it is possible that all sorts of mystical concepts..."...that's kind of an understatement of the perplexed ancients pre occupations!...where Einstein/Newton would ponder the Fall of an Apple, and do an exegesis, explanatory elaboration, using the scientific principle, birthing modern science and the atomic age, the ancients considered Eve handing Adam THE apple, and went off...the rest history...the Olmec figurines have Downes syndrome, readsaid...and the Moche ceramics have all kinds of handicap features, deformities caused by disease too...these are not simple things to understand..."Trout makes the catch, and the ball game is over!"...put a halo over this one...Royals 3, Angels 4...
