Tourbillion

Turbulence

Pelta

quote

... ... ...

If strange things happen where she is,
So that men say that graves open
And the dead walk, or that futurity
Becomes a womb and the unborn are shed,
Such portents are not to be wondered at,
Being tourbillions in Time made
By the strong pulling of her bladed mind
Through that ever-reluctant element.

The White Goddess (poem)

“One of the most fascinating parts of science is how one can explain so many things as the same thing, happening on different scales in the Universe,” says Beattie. “Turbulence ends up being ‘that’ thing in the Universe – it is absolutely ubiquitous in across many of the scales of the Universe, both in space and in time.”

Notes:...Game on...on the radio...Ohtani just wapped a two run home run...Blue Jays at Angels...Jays 0, Angels 5...Renfroe hit one earlier...bottom of fourth...O'hoppe hits one!...Jays 0, Angels 6...Ward fly out...Trout up...K...to top of fifth...Jays make out...bottom of fifth...Ohtani with lead off hit...to top of sixth..."tourbillion" is a word for whirlpool, vortex, and a search just brings up something about watches!...looking for image of jet engine backwash turbulence...oh, wait...Physics girl has it with vlog about vortex in swimming pool...peltas!...back aways posts noting this...I have one pic of the jet wash...should be lots...somewhere "under" some word...oh!...Jays have been busy and game is tied up...thought I heard that, but didn't believe it...a six run inning...so far...yep..."wake turbulence" google images has a bunch...aaaand they look like peltas!...go figure...Chapman had a grand slam...up again with two runners on...another bloop hit...Jays 7, Angels 6...long fly out to Renfrew...hit finds a hole...Jays 8, Angels 6...another bloop hit!...Jays 10, Angels 6...gloom...Graves' "tourbillion" came back to me...imagine he chatted with science friend about fluid dynamics...or some such...lol...very odd, that Graves questioned about matters says this:

quote

Though loving and just, she is ruthless. Her symbol is the double-axe–consisting of two moon-like blades, one crescent, one decrescent, set back to back and fitted with a haft. The crescent blade represents blessing, increase, joy; the decrescent blade represents cursing, plague and sorrow that punish human folly and disorder. The Muse-poets have always recognized these two blades: poetry proper is the constructive side of their profession, satire the destructive side. (Robert Graves, “The White Goddess: a talk, New York, 1957” presented as Appendix B in The White Goddess, edited by Grevel Lindop).

...the double ax resembles the pelta...go figure!...in science, Newton's laws come up against 'turbulence'...order opposing chaos....the Mandalorians dismiss the Jedi as magicians engaged in witchcraft...a theme being worked on in the Mandalorian episodes on Disney Plus...noted before, the New Republic sigil resembles a pelta...Newton himself much studied "turbulence", they all did, back then, and to this day...to bottom of eighth...sigil said to be rising phoenix...kinda alchemy's thing...the Imperial sigil looks like the Black Sun...a home run...Drury waps one...Jays 1o, Angels 7...Newton was an alchemist...William Blake was...I dunno...part of the Rebel Alliance, pal of Thomas Paine!...fan myself of the Mandalorian saga...top of ninth...Graves disavows connection with magic, new age cults...superstition creeps into everything...hit a home run nowadays, and one is rewarded with the wearing of something in the dugout celebration...kinda like the Master's Golf green jacket...trophies...I happened in a browse upon a book about four poets as being Magicians...thought to post about it, and now stuck with doing it!...Graves, Yeats, Pound, Crawley...Jesus disavowed magic too, but then...for sometime...Happy Easter!...runner on...one away...W...Trout up...K...Ohtani up...will they walk him?...ball one...ball two...three balls...four balls...fump...bases loaded...Rendon coming up...2-1...2-2...hits him...Jays 10,Angels 8...Renfroe...0-1...fair ball...two runs score!...lol...Jays 10, Angels 10...Drury up...2-0...2-1...K...ohh...now the weird extra inning...weird in that it isn't like tradition, instead, the batter who made last out is put on second for both teams...another game shortening measure..."what a game...unreal"-Mark...f/c, the 'ghost' runner to third...ground rule double...Jays 11, Angels 10...single...Jays 12, Angels 10...Chapman K...to bottom of tenth...Urshela with a hit...runners at first and third...Ohoppe up...1-1...1-2...K...two down...Ward up...1-0...1-1...3-2...W...Trout up...bases loaded...lucky pop foul...dropped...0-1...1-1...2-1...3-1...3-2...W...Jays 12, Angels 11...Ohtani up...0-1...0-2...ground out...aand the game is over...Jays 12, Angels 11...
