Note: welp, I opened the editor, and a "Notice" that a post didn't meet "Community Standards", but it doesn't say which one, and the notice may have been there a long time, I don't notice it, or somesuch!...I dunno...is the whole blog blocked?!...anyway, on occasion, I give out its address with the caveat one might not find it...insomuch it's been years and years since a follower signed on, or a comment made, things are a bit sideways, I'd say...but, I just did a browse search "moche step fret" and it listed, before wiki's take!, an old twitter conversation which has been added to since I posted to twitter...I gave up on twitter...and I don't do "blog" posts to facebook, though I just did one about the Solstice...with twitter and facebook I have to calculate if what I say will go against "community standards"...community standards is like middle of the road...I just saw a gold coin, two of them identical except on one are "the pagan moon and sun" and on the other, where the moon and sun are, the Christian Cross...the King on the coin converted to Christianity-updated his coin...it gives one pause...Iconoclasm has a grim history-one culture annihilating the previous one...or even suppressing current different ones...another thing I just saw in Archeology History magazine was an ancient gold medallion from Denmark(?) with a swastika and crescent, representing sun and moon, the caption read...now, the step fret is edgy as it has a kinda swastika like distribution-it's all over the Americas, Ancient and Current-tattoos, my leather belt from swap meet!...I tracked the swastika back to the small statue of Artemis at Ephesus, a lead statue found there by that famous Germans archaeologists, very small, with a swastika...one of the Greek Key meanders has a swastika-noted decorating the House Chamber seat upholstery during Jan. 6-my representative ducking behind the seats, aaand I was watching a youtube about the Ancient Seven Wonders of the World, and the one about the Temple to Artemis at Ephesus noted its building stones were taken to build new churches and mosques, and to prove the point shows a mosque wall with one of the stones, and it has the meander with the swastika!...nowadays the swastika bespeaks of  WW2 and the terrible things the Nazis did...rightly so...and rightly reviled motif nowadays...motifs can become banished...even objective scientific discussions of them forbidden...forbidding such can become a kinda cover for suppression...it's complicated!...prior to WW2 the Swastika wasn't controversial at all, and in many countries it is still displayed with old sense of it intact...I suppose it does represent the Sun, though the emblem of Artemis was the Moon!...it's very common on old Greek pottery, along with the Greek Key, which is like on every Greek pot!...I wanted a copy of Archaeology magazine for May/June, but my bookstore visit today found only the newer issue...anyway, it had an article about the Chimu, Chan Chan their city, and there's this marvelous decorated silver plate, very detailed, and also a medallion that has that motif of like an upside down pyramid on top two steps...seen in the adobe walls, and pottery...my old posts go on about this...and in another youtube, about the Ark of the Covenant being hidden in Arizona, a rock petroglyph is pointed too as resembling the Ark...welp, what it resembles is a Peruvian tokapu, one of those designs-the steps of the step fret...in a flash of insight two days back, it came over me just how big, and powerful, the sun is...rattled my cage a bit!...and hence my Solstice wonderwanderabout...and this...it's very nice to see that some step fret fans found my blog, and I they're newer twitter posts from a random browse of one of my favorite search terms...Angels off today after dropping two to the Dodgers by the scores of 2-0, 2-0...fump...oh, forgot the Mycenean swords...these were on facebook, like six of them...I commented that one has the motif seen on Egyptian tomb ceiling, and another has a cat, Leopard?, eating a bird like in famous Egyptian painting...the Myceneans were in Egypt, the two cultures, readsaid, now thought more closely linked than thought of before...oh, I found May/June Archaeology online...the cover has the underwater mosaic just found-Peltas!

:)
