Feathers Fluffed

Shuttled over to the Post Office...large print of Hummock Bobcat came...waited a bit for return Shuttle...but then recalled seeing on the ride over, the Clouds over Half Dome...decided to walk out to Bobcat Meadow....took pics of Half Dome at Oak Branch Arching Over Half Dome...worked a bit with them in Elements (my only photoshop!)...that Adjust Backlight Lighting is very useful!...for sometime postup...Artist Grove clip of Song Sparrow...and Redwing...by the Merced, lots of Robins and Blue Jays...one Blue Jay taking bath...tried to get that clip...but only got Blue Jay drying off!!...tonight's clip...with Robin....crossed over Chapel Bridge to see if Owl might be Home...Owl was, and deep inside the Hollow...first time for that!...tried for pics, but low light wasn't helping...it was cloudy overcast cool!....back over the Bridge, happened on a photog with a red ring long lens....thought a minute...and offered to show them were Owl was if they'd send me an email pic!!...they agreed, and I gave directions...including, 'dont get too close, and be quiet!'...I'd already got the baleful Owl eye!...will post up my pic sometime...hopefully with the other photogs!...the lens was a new toy, and they were pleased to be 'lucky to get a pic of Bear up a tree'!....add Owl, and that is indeed lucky!...another report of Bear running across Road by the Creek Bridge earlier...and a report of Ring Tail Cat at the Train Wreck!...wish I could see one!...oh...came to Cabin in the dark after work, contemplating the wayward Bus...and it's back in the Backyard......and back to square one!

"Feathers Puffed
Feathers fluffed,
Near, and with my own sleeping,
Warm"

from on a long ago hike above Idyllwild, under a pine with patches of snow, a cold day, and feeling a little altitude sick, curled up in my blue sleeping bag...Blue Jay on a snag above...that's all in the poem...which is somewhere!...and for sometime!!

I love the wet blue jay, he is truly beautiful. Even when he fluffs up and hunkers his butt down in that funny little twist. :-)

Blue Jay looked a little more dignified today, Easter!
