OTI:notes:8/2/18

Open To Interpretation

Notes: game on...on the radio...hooey...missed most of game...came on really early...East coast day game...Angels and Rays...Rays 4-0 bottom of 6th...Young is in center again...Trout?...Ohtani on the bench again...oh...thinking on how to do a short post with short time left in game...trying to think how drawing got started...Mysterions over complicate things...spirals show up a lot in petroglyphs...all over the world...simple explanation for this: our spiral fingerprints...look a bit like labyrinths too...Angels get a hit...Pujols up...handprints on the cave walls too...stick figures, animals, hunting scenes...stone tools, chipped flints, soapstone bowls, reed boats...a double...Upton to third, Pujols on second...no one out...Simmons up...watched on Amazon prime last night old movieStargate...it has a lot of things spot on...right to start is how orthodox views mock anything different...lot of back and forth mockery now in politics...and then there is the enigma of how suddenly Egyptian hieroglyphs appear...then the plot has the constellation discovery...ancient artistries do represent star lore/constellations...and the pyramid a landing platform for the pyramid space ship...I've always liked that!...the battle with the alien is a hark to the old Myths...a battle with the gods, and an old world destroyed bringing on a new world--the hero(s) becoming a revered figure...often there are twin heroes...one dominant, the other his sidekick...Batman and Robin...Gilgamesh and Enkidu....the Stargate device is the shamans' 'portal'...an hallucinogen or some such...'what a rush' soldier says after reaching the other world...spirals and nested imagery in the journey across galaxies...not that the scriptwriters really understood what they were going on about!...but, I dunno...maybe they did...there is something spooky about Hollywood movies...movieInfinityWars has the theme of culling life in the universe...Thanos is set on wiping out half...so, so I thought to finish up the Don Brown De Vince code saga movies...rented from amazon Inferno...plot has it the villains want to kill off half of humanity...go figure!...worse, the ending is about a bag full of red pathogen disease, and it's in a red water filled underground and pillared sort of palace in Istanbul...took note of the play of reds and blacks in the movie!...but then it is based on Dante's hell...worse, took note when they opened the black sarcophagus just in the news, it was filled with red 'sewage'...and some fear it might be diseased...some want to drink it!...Angels picked up two runs before making out...bottom of 7th...Rays 4-2...Trout must be nursing an injury...archeologists collect things carefully, then, with study, and experience, try to relate them...finding patterns, finding enigmas...for the most part, it is left to story tellers/Hollywood to conjecture what it all might mean...to top of 8th...Ohtani up pinch hitting...2 hits in last twenty two at bats...K...manager doesn't extend the same amount of confidence to Ohtani he does to the big salaried players in the line up...there might be a dark reason for this: consider Pujols and Trout make like 60 million a year between them...bench them, or even send them down to the minors to adjust, for non performance, and it would get around the league that Angels management is hard on veteran players...so when trade times comes around, veteran players say, 'I'll pass' on a team that doesn't guarantee slot in starting line up...this happens in basketball a lot...high school kids wont sign with colleges without a guarantee...heck...they wont even go to a high school that doesn't guarantee them playing time...so, how much does Ohtani make a year?...quote: By coming now, he was limited to earning a maximum $3.5-million bonus and he is guaranteed a salary of no more than the major league minimum of $545,000 for the next three years. unquote...I think, overall, he is under contract for six years...if nothing else, he is a fan favorite...I dunno...as a rookie, sorta...he played awhile in Japan...it's watch and learn time...Rays make out...to top of 9th...oh!, I found an old world culture with the Inca Cross....half of one...the step throne/Inca warrior checkerboard...Ohtani's circumstance has import for anyone young, or new, working a job...or idea...Jiroft culture...a very Moche like mud brick complex in Iran...Calhoun K...Upton up...well...this game is trailing off...leave off post notions until tomorrowmorrow...hmmph...1-2...
