Orion's Onion

One Poem

Rainy Day

And pass by graves without noting who was
What and where a time consuming bracket.
Hurried along I am pushed by bees buzz
Not even a one can I stop, smack it!

So, maybe rain will fall, drown their low hum,
Send them sheltering to their roundish home
While I with respite return to mine, glum
To note the welts swell, and itch and itch some.

Consumed I am to find again your lay,
Determined to fend distractions away,
Make sense of a million senselessness clay--
Earthworms tunnel, emerge a rainy day.

Better a world tomorrow will certain be.
I, alack, a bleached white rack, home for bees.
