Linguists generally agree in estimating that within the next century, the extinction of at least several thousand of the 6,909 languages listed by Ethnologue, or nearly half, is virtually guaranteed under present circumstances.

Notes:  bit of a rush...almost midnight...on my phone, on opening google, I can just clic on G and a list of log lines I might like shows up...my AlgoPuka does this, fills my AlgoBowl...it considers what I posted day or so before, and finds stuff to add stuff to...I guess this is the start of having an AI companion, or some such...anyway, sorry for hurried post...more measured tomorrowmorrow!
