Feathers and Waves

In the main field, stamped spirals, linked together by engraved lines, surround a ship which is engraved slightly below centre, opposite the handle. The hull and an upward pointing prow are depicted by engraved double lines. There is a fish symbol and two banners on the high prow. Above and below the hull, oars or rudders are suggested by slanting lines - a different number on each side.[1] A unique feature compared to other frying pans is the orientation of the ship. It is the only known depiction of a ship with a high prow, which is usually identified as the bow, at the left end.[2]
Note: browsing the facebook reel feed, I happened on an Egyptian model ship, with a pause...it had this Mycenean pattern...and towards the bow was another, the bull, I think...I think, because it scrolled away before I could share it to my notes...so, I'm off looking for it...some encouragement, as here the pattern with boat...the Egyptian ships are like a microcosm of the whole art...noted this with Kheker Frieze...normally that's on a painting, walls, and such, but I found it on an Egyptian boat, sideways, decorating the bow...the boats were special, used for ceremonies, and everything Egyptian packed into their decor-symbols...lemesse if I can find one illustrating this...oh, found another with the Mycenean curls...just a little bit...top pic...behind Nat. Geo. pay wall...time to feed cats, and me...more tomorrowmorrow...
