Ospreys

After Breakfast, geared up, and hopped in Silver....thought to stop at the Meadows awhile, but Sunday crowd--no where to park!..hmmph...thought was to go to Mono Lake, so kept going...picked up sandwich and fruitpunch at the Mobil Station--Sunday Crowd there too!...visited the Visitor Center...walked the short Trail thereabout, and learned where to go to see Birds, and maybe Ospreys...first place the County Park....Path through the Willows takes one along a Boardwalk to a View Area...set up, and sighted on the Gulls and others...clips and pics for sometime...and by chance, sighted on the farthest away Tufa Tower, and there was Osprey...very cool...hard to get clip...Wooden Platform would vibrate just from my standing....figured out to set a clip going, or timer for pic, and sit down on the Bench, and be still!...this worked, unless other tourists (on the Road, I'm most definitely a tourist too!), made the vibrations into impossible camera shake....Osprey was farfar away....tourist reported Two Ospreys at the South Towers...so picked up, and rodeabout thataway....Far Horizons from the Road...I feel more at home with the Valley's Rim Walls....at the South Tufas, one can walk right down to the Shore....Tufas to the right looked promising, and sighted Two Nests, but no Ospreys...snacked, waitedwaited, and got some Grebe pics, which I missed before...for sometime...tourist reported Osprey to the left, back the way I came, and thereabout, after some scanning, sighted One Osprey....Wind causing camera shake this time....but got some more souvenir pics and clips....again, Osprey was farfar away...which is a good thing...boaters on the Lake are warned to give the Ospreys room....time...wanted to be back with some daylight, and reached Crane Flat with some Sierra Red Orange Sunset left....and Last Chance just in time to get a to go snack!....Day was an experiment, to see if I could go out and back on a Rideabout in similar manner to the Walkabouts....okay, but somethings are different, to be sure...on the way out, just at Camp 4, sighted maybe Small Hawk...pulled off the Road but in a no park zone...so no luck....had to just keep going....and finding it best not to skygaze while driving!....Yellow Flowers are Rabbit Bush in bloom...
