that site has a lot, I mean a lot...from crystalinks I learned there is a philosophical sect (see crytalinks 'grid' take') called Mysterians...I coined myself, Mysterions, to give name to wild and wooly sites...that site's author is a Mysterion with the on and on aliens interbred with Sumerians, or some such...Rays get runs, and make out...Rays 3-2...and author has it Innana's door posts are like radio antennae...that page, viewing it for the pic copy  a second time, I took note, is about making a reed boat with a bow and stern...I just read a long piece about Sumerians making their version of Noah's ark, and it is made of reeds, but round, a coracle...for sometime soon this reed boat making!...Trout up...Ohtani up...walked in the first inning...I don't know what happened to Trout...Ohtani K...one down,,,Trout walked I think...he's on first...Pujols up...and, that site has these little slide shows of Sumerian artifacts, cylinder seals mostly, each with a little caption...for a long while I've been trying to find a good page with the seals...Albert with a hit...Trout to third...Pueo up...Innana's door posts look more like flag poles, totem pole like, part of the architecture of the reed huts...the deltas of the Nile, the shores of Lake Titicaca, the deltas of the Tigris and Euphrates, the upper Nile/Sud, are all where sophisticated cultures lived in reed huts with reed boats!...another I noted deep in Africa on a lake...even hereabout the Chumash made reed boats...fly out sac for Fletcher...Goodwin up...Goodwin scored the first run in first inning...Rays 3-2...ground out...to bottom of third...the coracles of the Sumerians were big enough for three horses, or like thirty people...and were still being made into the mid-twentieth century...the reed delta was drained then about, but now I think it's back...doggone commercials...they're overlapping the first batter up in each inning...Rays with two on, first and third, no out...too, the conflicts have wrecked havoc with museums and archaeological sites in Iraq...the Warka Vase was stolen, then returned...restored, again, it is back in the museum...Goodwin tosses out runner trying to reach home plate...fly out double play...two down...I'll give the Mysterions their due...it does seem there is a concerted effort to erase the past, a kind of thing one does to hide a crime--that alien intervention!...the bread and butter of movie series X Files!...the history of iconoclasts is horrific...Rays made out...to top of fourth...related to the Warik/uruk vase is the Uruk Trough...

quote

The Uruk Trough is an important prehistoric Middle Eastern sculpture found at the site of Uruk, Iraq. It has been part of the British Museum's collection since 1928.[1][2] Along with the Uruk Vase, the trough is considered to be one of the earliest surviving works of narrative relief sculpture from the Middle East, dating to 3300-3000 BC. Simple relief sculpture is known from much earlier periods, from the site of Göbekli Tepe, dating to circa 9000 BC.

Uruk Trough.jpg

The carving shows a procession of rams, ewes and lambs approaching or emerging from a reed building, similar one lived in by the Marsh Arabs in southern Iraq. Experts have so far not been able to explain what the scenes mean, although the reed bundles on the building have been used subsequently as symbols of the goddess Inanna and the carvings may relate to the fecundity of the land under Inanna's protection.

The myth of Enlil and Ninlil is about Enlil's serial seduction of the goddess Ninlil in various guises, resulting in the conception of the moon-god Nanna and the Underworld deities Nergal, Ninazu, and Enbilulu.
... ... ...
Enlil was not represented anthropomorphically in Mesopotamian iconography.[35] Instead, he was represented by a horned cap,[35] which consisted of up to seven superimposed pairs of ox-horns.[36] Such crowns were an important symbol of divinity;[37][38] gods had been shown wearing them ever since the third millennium BC.[37] The horned cap remained consistent in form and meaning from the earliest days of Sumerian prehistory up until the time of the Persian conquest and beyond.[

There has been much debate concerning the writing, etymology, and hence meaning of Enlil's name. These elements are important to discuss because they also relate to an analysis of this deity's functions. The writing and reading of this deity's name is not certain (see below), and even if we do read den-líl, the translation of "líl" is contentious. The Sumerian word "líl", whose Akkadian equivalent is zaqīqu, means "ghost, phantom, haunted" (Michalowski 1989: 98; Tinney 1996: 129-30; Michalowski 1998) but a translation of Enlil's name as "Lord ghost" makes little sense in the context of his mythological attestations. The interpretation of líl as "wind" is apparently a secondary development of the first millennium BCE (Tinney 1996: 129), which has led to an interpretation of Enlil's name as "Lord Wind" or "Lord Air" (e.g., Jacobsen 1989). This interpretation has led some scholars to reconstruct a vertically ordered cosmology that consisted of the gods An (heavens), Enlil (atmosphere), and Enki (earth), but this remains very problematic.
... ... ...
In the 4th millennium the combination of signs later used to write the name Enlil (see below for discussion) has been suggested to act only as a toponym, and refer to the city of Nippur (Englund 1998: 72-76 and Wang 2011: 41-59), but this understanding remains highly contested. This sequence of signs appears on the Late Uruk Archaic City List, Archaic city seal impressions, and various administrative documents. Wang, who has produced the most recent study of this subject, proposes that the combination of signs used to write the toponym for Nippur came to be a writing for the deity Enlil at about the time of Late Uruk – Early Dynastic Period transition (ca. 3200-2800 BCE). Wang suggests that the deity Enlil might have come to be worshipped at Nippur at this time, and subsequently taken the writing of the toponym for the writing for his divine name (Wang 2011: 245).
