Open To Interpretation

Big Hands

Notes:  Game on...on the radio...Angels and Red Sox...top of fifth...Angels 3-3...Ohtani up...1-2 the count...K...Pujols ground out...Calhoun up...W...Fletcher up...Fletcher makes out...to bottom of fifth...Red Sox score a run on passed ball...bases loaded...Red Sox 4-3...browsing rock art of the South West...K...to top of sixth...as wild and crazy as modern graffiti looks, it all has a kind of common look to it...and, I don't even know how to explain that...but, ancient rock art, from all over the world, in over all look, looks a lot alike!...the animals are different, the zoomorphs, but the artists' methods of depicting them self similar...or some such!...people too...anthromorphs(?)...and then there are the geometric drawings...

Geometric Signs Niaux Cave France

"The abstract signs are, indeed, fascinating but they are also extremely enigmatic. For more than a century, they have defied all attempts to interpret them. Today they are largely forgotten"(Forbes & Crowder 1979: 350)

my drawing skills from imagination are about on a par with the ancient rock artists!...from life, or a photo, I can artisan like make a 'real' drawing...but from imagination, it's another thing all together!...not likely the stone age ancients were drawing from life in front of them...or from a clip art book like the Egyptians...but they must have seen one another's work, and borrowed...I want to borrow those big hands!...page doesn't source those...Scandinavia I think...note the sun wheels...tiny ones in lower left quadrant...boat there two, with warriors with swords?...bottom of seventh...lead off hit...Boston makes out...to top of eighth...Calhoun with home run!...Angels 4-4...Fletcher ground out...Thais up...ground out...Upton pinch hit for Stasi...W...Renigfo up...flare hit...Goodwin up...

more flying running...just a line on a painting all the way across divides it, and above will be the sky, below the ground...just happens, as that's what we see everyday...the horizon...noted this when I was doing the Cosmic Seashells...Salvador Dali all the time putting in a horizon...Bembomb throws out Betts!...Bembom first time catching for Angels...so, so, looking at Van Gogh's painting, I'm noting the heavy dividing lines...that's a 'trick'...Boston batter W...I'm looking at the old rock art for the artists' tricks!...a really common one is two show a person's chest full front, and a person's legs, profile...the one up above with the archers doesn't have that...the artist tried to stay true...problem is the perspective of showing both arms from the side...Egyptian art is really weird, as legs and feet will be in profile, the torso will be full front, then the head will be profile!...Boston makes out...to top of ninth...
