Ouzels And Mergansers

Paddled out to Bobcat Meadow...quiet...lots of Mallards floating about the Ponds...shopping errands in the Village...new summer pants...drawing stuff...picked up lunch, though it was after lunch!!...egg salad, hersheys, orange juice....continued to the A Rooms...Road all torn up, being repaved and trenched....asked friend later how they saw Bear thereabout with all the noise..'weekend'...quiet....ate late lunch at the Backpackers Camp...climbers on Washington Column....pic for sometime...they were about two thirds up, but were coming back down...heard Pileated by Mirror Lake stop...but couldn't locate....reached the Pony Path by the Merced by the Giant Boulder, and Ouzel was singing....looking about for Ouzel, sighted Merganser Pair...thanked Ouzel!....had the opportunity for some neat clips, but kept setting up in the wrong spot...well, the Mergansers kept moving, is what it was!....wanted to get clip of them coming under the Snag Bridge...instead got clip, hd, for sometime, of Ouzel on the Snag!...thanked the Mergansers!...and even more so when I sighted Ouzel Pair on their Snag Nest....missed clip of Ouzel Pair singing on the Snag Bridge...did get pic...I was back and forth, and waitingwaiting for the Ouzels to pose...changing from the mini digi to the 20x on the tripod...everything was a little bit off!....and it is such a wonderful spot by the Giant Boulder...finally started up the Path without turning back to follow Ouzel, and sighted Male Merganser near the other Channel...missed pic...and at Ouzel Boulder there IS a New Nest!...purpose of the whole walk today was to check Ouzel Boulder....Nest looks finished, and I feel remiss that I didn't looksee sooner, and maybe sight Ouzels building the Nest...had thought the weather would slow construction!...as is the usual case hereabout!...sunny puffwhiteclouds blueblue, warm....back at the Cabin, misfortune for the Deer Mouseys...one trapped in the mini refrigerator expired, and another looks to have bitten into the wires in back, and also done in...took them back to the Creek, and Deer Mouseys floated away on a piece of Ponderosa Bark...paddled out to Creek's End in the fading Light...high water and fallen Limbs blocking my usual route..One Doe by the Three Cedars...Mallard Pair by the Lunch Sit Log...pics....the YA Art free classes have started up....no experience required, and I recommend them, if for no other reason than one is made to just sit for a couple hours and look, rather than chase about...I'd still go to them, but I'm chasing about!!....very cool to locate two Ouzel Nests!....oh...Deer in the Meadows...groups of four or five...seen from the Shuttle...Stoneman, A, and Bobcat....Three Fawns in Bobcat....last week, Rib Cage from Fawn, I think, right where the Boardwalk meets the Road in Chapel Meadow...see group of Deer often across the Merced thereabout at worktime Lunch...oh!...report of Pileated perched on car's hood...reporter couldn't recall where!...talkabout Birds and Mirrors....bit like Bloggers and Blogs!!....oh!!...first time, if I recall correctly, sighting Ouzel not dipping!...in fact, Ouzel seemed as much intent on the other Ouzel coming about as I was in sighting them together!...and Ouzel just stood, in one clip on one leg...disconsolate...
