White Crowned Sparrow

Snoozed until worktime...a few minutes to walk along the Path to work...missed pic of Little Bird...and did get a pic of Bluejay on Nest under the Eaves at Last Chance...sunny blue blue warm, some clouds later at lunch...at Lunch, sat on Ozone Boulder awhile...trying to take pics of Juncos fly catching...light too dim...and sighted Merganser Pair across the Merced....waited for Mergansers to float under the Snag Log...and Mergansers obliged!...pics...very cool....the Snag Log was lifted up into its present position by recent High Waters...be nice if it stays where it is, like it is!....a good Duck Perch and accent for pics!....Frazzle clip is more from yesterday morning....friend fishing in the Merced reports seeing as many as Eight Male Mergansers....friend at work handed me a White Feather found by the Train Wreck...took a bit to think, thought at first Mallard, then realized it is likely Male Merganser's!....very cool...oh...on Use Path on the way back to work from Lunch, sighted White Crowned Sparrow...pics...

More oil spill stuff:

This link is to Audobon's site, note they list the ubiquitous hot line number:
and here is their form to fill out, which is a very good form, by the look of it...

After the Exxon disaster in Alaska, funds from taxes on gasoline have been put aside for just such circumstance as the Spill, and some other things put into place, like liability limits for the Oil Companies...and what's curious, is that management and logistics and paying out monies for things, is in the hands of the Oil Companies too....BP in the Gulf spill..... there's an outside chance they can actually make money cleaning up their own mess...actually, all our mess, insomuch we've all given the Oil Moguls worldwide the mandate to supply oil and gasoline most anyway they can, which they have gleefully done, making ungodly fortunes. But the crux of the matter now is hazmat training-- no one, it would appear, is to go near an oily bird, or barrier island, without this training. Folks in Florida have told BP and Federal Officialdom to buzz off, and will implement their own plans made previously to build berms and such. This because when they sought hazmat training they were given the run around. Not unlike, I imagine, the congress critters when questioning the moguls. hmmph.

More stuff (and the sleep debt grows!): The whole mess, I gather, has come under the aegis of Homeland Security's "Unified Command", and I suppose one should just step back and let them do their job, and accept whatever information they give to the media, as accurate and not under the Oil Moguls' spell.

hmmph..

Here's site about grass root effort to witness just what's happening as the spill moves...

One's credulity is being challenged by their credibility.
