Merganserlings Eight

Slept until noon....peddled over to the Village to check mail, and check when and how to get Backpack permit...usually I get permits in Tuolumne after getting thereabout on the Hiker's Bus, but getting one here in the Valley will save time, and if I get to the Wilderness Center early enough, more Trails might be open...and I can get the permit a day early...anyway, peddled out to Bobcat Meadow, over Chapel Bridge, and made the Outside Loop...quiet...at the Cabin, crossed the Road to the Store, and Buck was right by the Back Door...pic and clip...picked up tuna, kitkat, and orange juice--brunch...and to work...sunny blueblue hot....at Lunch: took a seat on Ozone Boulder, and sighted the Little Grey Bird on the Flat...haven't id...sat back down, and sighted Merganselings across the Merced....Merganserlings followed Mama Merganser up on to the Shore, preened awhile, then back in the River...I hopped off the Boulder and trotted ahead...pics..very cool!....report of Grouse with Chics at North Dome..
