Snowy Egret

After Breakfast (Hotel sets out free eats--chose cheerios, bisquits and gravey, apple juice, donut), I rolled over to Elkhorn Slough, and about ten thirty began walking about all the Paths...for sometime, just a post on these Paths....and Elkhorn report, reports!, for sometime too..too much for one post!....midway through the walk, I was there until like three, the Tide went out, a lot!....Low Tide is a good time to see Marine Critters, and Birds that are looking for Marine Critters...saw One sandpiper like Wader pluck a Razor Clam, and after some frustration trying to get Clam out, Wader swallowed Clam, shell and all!...I have pics of Snow Egret at Moss Landing from Sept. visit, but I hadn't seen Egret's Feet....'Golden Slippers' Laws Field Guide calls them...very cool...pic and clip up....when I left off from Elkhorn, Meadow Lark was the last pic..for sometime...blurry pic, which would have been clear if I had dared to leave the Path right in front of the Visitor Center to get nearer!!...Lark was on Bush in the middle of the Pasture? by Little House....didn't eat or drink all day, but thought to stop at Moss Landing...at the Landing, sighted maybe Kite on the Snag just past the Bridge, but was too hungry, and thought to go to the Snack Shack for 'to go' Calamari...coming up to the Bridge thereabout, sighted photog sighting Two H Dock Otters...set up the tripod..clips and pics...forgot to shut off the IS again...(and again when I did the Egret clips (best viewed with sound off!))....One Otter, all black, was dozing while white Otter was grooming, and when Otters were in 'rest mode', I picked up and hurried around the corner to the Shop...too late--closed...continued all the way to Castroville...neat town...whopper value meal to go...and rolled back to the Kite on the Snag...still there...but after reaching into Silver for the gear, I looked back at the Snag, Kite had flown off!...sigh...rolled out to the Picnic Bench and watched Otters...Two Otters hauled out on to the Beach--Tide still out...Sunset was going on again behind me over the Dunes, but I ate and watched Otters...a long day...sunny blueblue to begin, but the same high clouds rolled in, cool to warm...Otter pics and clips for sometime...Point Lobos tomorrow, and a looked forward to visit with friends that live thereabout!...very cool.....oh..sighted Kite on the edge of the Pasture just before Meadow Lark...got that pic, Kite flew up overhead...for sometime...
