OTI:notes:6/16/18

Open To Interpretation

Notes: game on...on the radio...A's two outs with a run in...pop out to Kinsler...to top of 5th...forgot to note when game was on, so missed first innings!...and will have to leave off in a bit to get ready to go referee basketball...an odd thought: I've noted that the baseball diamond is a square on end...relating it to tocapus, the square Inca emblems...see previous posts...this thirty six in a series...note news today, the Volcano in Hawaii has been erupting lava for about 36 days...Pujols lead off hit...A's 1-0...so, so, when I'm at my perch in the 500s at the stadium, it's like I'm watching an animated square 'glyph', tocapu...knowing the rules of the game, and having played it, I know what is going on...but one can imagine the mystery to someone who hasn't...that's kind of what the scholars are up against when researching the tocapus...and it gets worse if one considers basketball...the court is a rectangle, but like the baseball infield, most of the play is in the square of the frontcourt!...thinking on that, I got to recollecting Masons and their 'four squareness'...Young with three rbi home run!...Angels 3-1...and found one of the many sites that go on about Masonic symbols and ancient mysteries...and parenthetically, the author makes a comment echoing my own 'blueness' over the dilatants, and elitists, of the academic community...any community really...sometime this notion shows up in odd place...fox news broadcaster just has it that a viewer of all the other major media should consider just the opposite of what they say as true...expressive of a kind of closed group that controls the news, which is ironic, as fox controls the news!...pots calling kettles...anyway, this quote echoes my, well, sadness at the whole circumstance...I'm going on about ancient mysteries, but I could just as well be going on about those immigrant kids in repurposed walmarts...which I did a bit back...that story grows and more people say to the g'ment, 'wait, you're not telling the whole story!'...Angels made out...brb...

quote

These scholars — mainstream historians and archaeologists — are fundamentally honest and hard-working people who perform the extraordinarily laborious task of unearthing artifacts from our ancient past.

The problem is that they are locked into a particular paradigm that sees our society as the apex and pinnacle of the human story. They view history as a straightforward evolutionary process, from caveman to today’s highly technological civilization, which in their minds is the “supreme” one.

They are 100% locked into this “evolutionary” idea of how history works, and so it’s very difficult for them to accept that deep in the remote past there existed a civilization or Golden Age that was far more advanced than we are ― spiritually, psychologically, technologically ― and that was able to do things that we cannot.
