Open To Interpretation

Notes:...reaches and stepping stones...I often write hereabout that I am reaching for this or that, or looking for a stepping stone...gathering these ancient history 'Easter eggs'--motifs, symbols, icons, ideographs, and such-- from around the world, has become a kind of all around the web thing...self similar eggs get set side by side from widely apart places, and there's a kind of 'aha!' moment...it's a bit of a scavenger hunt...one has a notion of what one is looking for, and then goes 'door to door', from web site to web site, using the magic of the web search engines, and one finds things, marking off on one's hypothetical list 'something' found...it's hard to say what one really finds when one finds 'something'...what was really found when it was found the earth goes around the sun?...or the earth is round?...hmmph...some more thoughts on the step fret...see previous posts...this like forty fourth in a series...together with thoughts how the 'step' motif is a 'natural step' in basket weaving...to make a design basket weavers are limited by the materials, and they can't make smooth angled lines, so one sees jagged lines, steps...maybe with pine needle baskets curved lines, angled lines work out!...so, so, I checked to see if any baskets remain from the Incas and Aztecs, representatives of Andean and Mesoamerican culture...and, no, all gone, except for depictions on vases...have to check that...maybe at those desert archaeological sites in Peru, being so dry, they find baskets...oh!...game on....on the radio...Angles and Red Sox...first pitch bottom of first home run mookie the menace betts...I can't make that up...Red Sox 1-0...Betts will be mvp...fly out...in the AL East I favor Boston...double...all these balls going out to Hermesillio...so I'm thinking a basket weaver would naturally come to making steps...and frets...both designs lend themselves to weaving with thick fibers...even with fine wool/cotton thread...fly out...again to Hermisillio!...and I looked for ancient Greece and Egypt basket weaving...Africa basket weaving...Hawaii basket weaving...left off...can find steps everywhere...and the running intertwined spirals--frets, everywhere...but only in the Americas have I found them together in that distinctive step fret motif...I arrived, while looking at the Moche murals, at an 'aha' moment...the step fret represents the galaxy, the Milky Was seen whole...a 'something'...put me in a funk...as thinking on this there is two things...one is the step fret being common to pre-Columbian cultures from Peru to Arizona...and the other, is how did the artists see the Milky Way, the Galaxy?...they didn't have, well, wait, we don't have a telescope either that with we can see in totality our galaxy...we infer it is a spiral from having seen with telescopes myriads of other galaxies in outer space...BoSox made out...Angels up...two out?...so, how did the ancients know the galaxy is spiral shaped?...nowadays, the Milky Way stars have been mapped, their motions predicted, and so we know we are in a spiral galaxy...I think I have that right!...and of course, I have no idea if the step fret is a stylized spiral galaxy...but, but look at these 'steps' I took since last post up!...looking at the Moche figurines I happened on the 'Mural Of The Myths'...Angels made out...bottom of 2nd...lead off hit...E6...two runners reach second and third...one out...two rbi single...BoSox 3-0...mookie the menace up...if, if the Angels reach the playoffs, Trout will be mvp...

In an ancient site known as Huaca de la Luna (Temple of the Moon) located in an unforgiving desert landscape in northern Peru, the people of the Moche civilisation painted and sculpted elaborate murals on the walls of temples and inside pyramids, passing on the story of their lives, beliefs and culture. Now, the murals have been captured in a super high resolution composite photograph allowing scientists, researchers and anyone interested to study the mural in minute detail.
... ... ...
It has been captured using gigapixel photography, a panorama made of billions of pixels that capture every element in sharp detail, allowing anyone with a computer to zoom in for close-up views of individual figures, which you can view here.

looking at the original is tough...it's badly eroded, and likely not long for this world, since it has been uncovered...they have a roof over it...but I dunno...but when I looked at it, thinking to add my two bits, I immediately thought it is a star map...maybe a zodiac...I mean, it has little stars all over it!...maybe they're flowers...another double...Betts walked...BoSox 4-0...this is going to be a rout...how it was back in April when Boston was at Anaheim...Red Sox and Yankees are running away with things...both on schedule for well over a hundred wins on the season...two out...intentional walk...bases loaded...broken bat liner hit...Lamb's pitching done...to the bullpen for help!...here's link again to mural...

close up of mural...haven't been able to find a reproduction painting restoring the colors and forms...there is one at the site I see in tourist pics...but too small to snag!...that site has close ups and zoom...another hit for Trout...Upton up...Trout reached third on wild pitch...walk...loaded bases!...Pujols up...the mural is in a huge mud brick temple ruin of the Moche...and there are geometric designs and such, but much eroded...these mud brick ruins are hard to consider...they find skeletons of workers imbedded in the walls...sacrifices likely...and the depictions are violent...torn apart bodies including insides...a bit much...artistically, the Moche are very accomplished...I've noticed that in those lima bean warrior pics that the artists have the center of gravity of the running and moving figures in the right place...that's not easy to do!...Angels made out...to bottom of 3rd...another Boston runner on...that pic above has what may be the Two Foxes...Two Foxes became the Moche's stylized representations of the planet Venus...Venus is important because it can both be the morning and evening star, and it has an odd eight year cycle...for sometime...but the Foxes are special!...try to find site I read about them!...brb...something happened...home run, or double...Boston gets another run...mookie the menace up again!...once each inning!...walks...two walks and a homer for Betts so far..."Sciocia not a happy camper"...Boston makes out...to top of 4th...two out walk...Young up...

Fig. 8 Sculpture of the Menacing Disk; top view facing 294º, bottom view, 114º; note crescent eyes on western face and single round eye on eastern face. Also note larger head on lift figure, presumably male. Mark in tail on left fox matches the one on the incised fox in Fig. 2 above. Traced figures and profile drawn by Bernardino Ojeda.

Fig. 9 Paired foxes, drawn from the original Moche murals at El Brujo presented by Franco and others (2003). Some surrounding symbols were omitted, but stars are retained. Note line in tail of left fox with larger head but not present in right fox.
... ... ...
Viewers in entryways of the both the Temple of the Fox and the disk Temple of the Menacing Disk would have seen the Andean Fox constellation begin to rise as the Chillón river began to flood at the December, austral summer solstice. The Fox constellation would be fully risen by the March equinox when the river would begin to fall. A hierarchy of priests with astronomical knowledge may have directed the construction of the mounds, whose stairways have astronomical alignments (Benfer n.d.). Those temples also have multiple alignments. The fox sculptures and the incised fox mural link the two temples to the fox.

Angels made out...to bottom of 4th...one out...these old temples have sighting lines, through doorways and such...ancients looked at the stars like surveyors, using manmade or natural features to line up on things...popular for the web searchers is finding these alignments!...a tourist draw...anyway, I noted 'the line in the tail'...and thought, 'oh, the Moche have made the two foxes distinct from one another the way the Egyptians did with their lions of yesterday and tomorrow!'...and I wondered too if the Egyptian lions represented Venus in its two aspects, morning and evening star...Boston made out...top of 5th...one out...Kindsler up...did that search, and it turned up a forum talk at Graham Hancock's site...Kinsler hit...one commentator thought the lions are Venus...'aker' lions they're called...sometimes leopards...or a rare lion with spots!...Trout gets on...what's going on...two on?...

quote

Aker (the 2 Lion-Leopard) guarded the Aket, so it is the Guardian of the
birth (Sunrise) and the deatrh (Sunset).

To me Aker represents nothin more than:

Morning Star and Evening Start ...... i.e. VENUS.

And if you make a careful reflection (noticing the opposite directions of the head of the 2 Lion-Leopard)
it is from East and West where respectively VENUS can be seen BEFORE the Sunriseand the Sunset.

Just toughs of a simple man from a country.

Nice and bright day

lol..forums are full of back and forths...as are comment sections...and much miss-used by trolls and such...but that comment is spot on...and no one took it on...reading further along I came upon...Boston with another home run...make out...to top of 6th...Boston 7-1...Simmons with one out single...forum back and forth goes on and on about measuring the great pyramid...I swear, it's just like the jeep forum going on about the 'death wobble' in jeep wranglers...anyway, somewhere in that thread is mention of...Angels make out...to bottom of 7th...Betts up...fly out to left...

quote

In Greek mythology, the Teumessian fox,[1] or Cadmean vixen, was a gigantic fox that was destined never to be caught. It was said that it had been sent by the gods (perhaps Dionysus) to prey upon the children of Thebes as a punishment for a national crime. Creon, the then Regent of Thebes, set Amphitryon the impossible task of destroying this beast. He discovered an apparently perfect solution to the problem by fetching the magical dog Laelaps, who was destined to catch everything it chased, to catch the Teumessian fox. Zeus, faced with an inevitable contradiction due to the paradoxical nature of their mutually excluding abilities, turned the two beasts into stone. The pair were cast into the stars and remain as Canis Major (Laelaps) and Canis Minor (Teumessian Fox).

another Boston home run...Boston 8-1...hmmph...Martinez his 28th home run...taking lead from Trout in home run count?...Betts has over twenty too...bunch on the Yankees with bunches....era of the home run...well, the Moche are in the Southern Hemisphere, so they wouldn't have the same constellations of the Egyptians or the Greeks...hmmph...one Aker lion always has a brand, star like, on its shoulder...see if I can find pic...Boston made out...top of 7th...one out...

Image result for aker lion

I can't find a good one to show the brand...it's always there...modern reproductions omit it...it's on the left lion's shoulder...long time ago I read in book that it was a mystery why one lion had the mark...well, if it is like the Moche Fox, the Lion is one phase of Venus, its twin the other...this gets complicated in a hurry...the cycles of Venus are seen in both hemispheres, and cultures in old and new worlds put them in their cosmologies...when it gets to cosmologies and astronomies, I get lost!...lead off single for Boton...which takes me back to the Mural of the Myths...and the step fret...and the step fret representing in stylized form the spiral Milky Way...more runs for Boston...Boston 9-1...found it...took a bit...

a pinterest pic snagged from google images...search moche mural...I can't find any comments about this step fret...step frets...look closely and they are all over...it's in the same temple as the Mural of the Myths...I think...place is huge...the steps and frets may have been an accident of basket weaving, but it was picked up and maintained/represented faithfully in other media...paintings, pottery, textiles, pottery shapes!...and it's all over the lima bean warriors!...top of 8th...Boston takes out their regulars...puts in the scrubs...Trout up...

This article will attempt to demonstrate that the figures represented on the walls convey cosmological significance and are laid out following textile principles. After describing the site and its geo-cultural setting, the mosaics' main characteristics will be examined in detail, in an attempt to grasp their meaning. Finally, the author suggests that some of the scenes depicted could have been inspired by pre-Columbian myths and could be linked to astronomical concepts.
