Starting in the first millennium, little stelae of brightly painted wood on which the deceased was depicted worshiping a deity—usually one of the forms taken by the sun—appeared among funerary items found in tombs. Lady Taperet, dressed in an elegant pleated gown is shown (on one side) praying to the falcon-headed god Re-Horakhty, crowned by a solar disk whose beams are lotus flowers; on the other side she is shown before Atum, wearing the double crown. These two deities symbolized the sun at its zenith and upon setting.

Hathor may be the cow goddess who is depicted from an early date on the Narmer Palette and on a stone urn dating from the 1st dynasty that suggests a role as sky-goddess and a relationship to Horus who, as a sun god, is "housed" in her.
... ... ...
Hathor, along with the goddess Nut, was associated with the Milky Way during the third millennium B.C. when, during the fall and spring equinoxes, the Milky Way aligned over and touched the earth where the sun rose and fell.[20] The four legs of the celestial cow represented by Nut or Hathor could, in one account, be seen as the pillars on which the sky was supported with the stars on their bellies constituting the Milky Way on which the solar barque of Ra, representing the sun, sailed.[

As measures of time, the rising and setting of decans marked 'hours' and groups of 10 days which comprised an Egyptian year. The ancient Book of Nut, covers the subject of the decans.

The Book of Nut (original title: "The Fundamentals of the Course of the Stars") is a collection of ancient Egyptian astronomical texts, also covering various mythological subjects. These texts focus on the cycles of the stars of the decans, the movements of the moon, the sun and the planets, on the sundials, and related matters.
This title was given to the book because of the depiction of the sky goddess Nut arching over the earth in some copies of the text. She is supported by the god of the air Shu. The Book of Nut texts include material from different periods of Egyptian history.

Aten (also Aton, Egyptian jtn) is the disk of the sun in ancient Egyptian mythology, and originally an aspect of the god Ra. The deified Aten is the focus of the monotheistic religion of Atenism established by Amenhotep IV, who later took the name Akhenaten
... ... ...
Principles of Aten's religion were recorded on the rock tomb walls of Akhetaten. In the religion of Aten (Atenism), night is a time to fear.[11] Work is done best when the sun, Aten, is present. Aten cares for every creature, and created a Nile river in the sky (rain) for the Syrians.[12] Aten created all countries and people. The rays of the sun disk only holds out life to the royal family; everyone else receives life from Akhenaten and Nefertiti in exchange for loyalty to Aten.[
The Aten depicted in art from the throne of Tutankhamun, perhaps originally made for Akhetaten
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aten
...during Akhenaten's brief reign, the sun rays were shown as lines ending in hands, sometimes the hands ending in ankhs...and the rays would 'land' above the heads of the Pharaoh and his Queen, and too on offerings of food and such...Angels made out...to top of 6th...there are a lot of these rays with hands images...I can't find many with the lotus flowers...and none so distinctive as Lady Taparet's...but they are part of the hieroglyph symbol of the sun at noon time...there's a different hieroglyph for the sun at sunrise, noon, sunset...and for other sun aspects...a bunch...

In the New Kingdom, when the god Amun rose to prominence he was fused with Ra into Amun-Ra. During the Amarna Period, Akhenaten suppressed the cult of Ra in favor of another solar deity, the Aten, the deified solar disc, but after the death of Akhenaten the cult of Ra was restored.
... ... ...
Ra was thought to travel on the Atet, two solar barques called the Mandjet (the Boat of Millions of Years) or morning boat and the Mesektet or evening boat.[4] These boats took him on his journey through the sky and the Duat, the literal underworld of Egypt. While Ra was on the Mesektet, he was in his ram-headed form.[

and, and I could go on and on...the sun-with-rays-below keeps morphing!...this was like a 'break through'...a rosetta stone moment!...and it's not just the sun with rays motif...the columns/borders, the over arcing motifs, morph too form one stele to the next, etc....the offering table/center piece...the figures on either side...they all morph too!...so there are these interlocking connotations...everything where the sun rays are, are connotations of the sun...each location on the steles, it seems, were reserved for just this and that...the locations themselves dictating the meanings of the symbols in those locations...and then, then, I found this one!!!...A's make out in the 8th...to bottom of 8th...Cowert with a hit..

I found a bunch of these...the shen ring...the ring with bar...and, I thought, that harks to Sumerian things...and then too in the pics of the Eye of Ra/Eye of Horus the curly cues, and thought, hoot!...that's the Sumerian famous winged symbol!...
quote
These two Sumerian cylinder impressions show how solar rays are depicted. Both have the holiest symbols, those in these impressions are the sun, moon, winged disk and sometimes included the seven orbs which most likely are the known planets. One has the solar winged disk directly above the tree of life by which stands the Babylonian Oannes (Ea also known as Enki in Sumerian). One has the "tail feathers" as rays just like the sun to it's right. The black and white illustration is the symbol of Aten an Egyptian sun god. Aten, or Aton, was the solar disk that Akhenaten worshiped with the rays being the life-giving force of light.

author of page snagged the same little sun at noontime hieoroglyp that I did!...but with a different take...anyway, the import is the Sumerian artists were using the locations in their depictions the same as the Egyptians...here is this, there is that...somehow, it looks to me, the curly cues on the Eyes of Horus morphed into the those two curly cue things on the Winged Sun...Angels make out in the eighth...to top of 9th...position play on the mound for Angels...three up three down...to bottom of 9th...A's 7-0...Ohtani up...base hit...another hit...two on no outs...
