Notes: game on...on the radio...Angels and Padres...rookie Taylor Ward at third...Barria on the mound...this post eighty eighth in a series...see previous...Calhoun up...0-1...I've made a mistake in the series...not putting a pic at the top of each post...I can relate pics to the content of the posts...as things are now, all I've got to go on is dates, and vague memory of when, to find something in an old post...looking about now for that Moche plate with the weavers on it...lead off hit for Calhoun...Fletcher up...following on on that thought that where-things-are-is-what things are in the ancient artistries...the Egyptian steles an example of vertical arrangement...the Book of Gates horizontal...double play...two out...Upton up...Upton made the saving catch last night...oh...lines a single...Simmons up...six of the players for Angels scrubs...brought up from minors...Barria is only 22...but has pitched like fourteen games...7-7?...I don't know if yet they carry him on the roster...they kept bouncing him back and forth to the minors...anyway, I got to thinking what a circular arrangement of things would look like...K...to bottom of 1st...way back when I was on line on GEnie, I came up with a whimsy...a snowball spaceship/space station...it was in Pournelle;s forum of all places...Pournelle just passed away...r.i.p...the back and forth in the thread got to going on about water in outer space...maybe it was just a 'forth' by me...on occasion I barged into threads with a thought...still do...and then often, and now too, the thought is like an orphan...no responses...a 'forth' without a 'back'...lol...web's a lot like that for everyone...anyway, all on my own, pretty much, asking what happens to water in outer space--the consensus then seemed to be it would ablate...freeze then evaporate...this is water put in space from an orbiting astronaut around the earth...a thought experiment...I'm still not sure what happens...but, but I thought up what is now called the 'goldilocks zone'...area in space from the sun where water can be in all its phases...looking closely at that notion of the zone brings some doubts...water where?...under ground?, on the surface?, on the surface under protecting atmosphere?. all by itself in orbit in the vacuum?, in sunlight?, shaded?...think what everyone arrives at for the zone is a water atmosphere...but even then, without the earth's rotation, and atmosphere circulation, plus the van allen belts shielding, the atmosphere would be gone, or different, like Venus...Venus is said to be in the Goldilocks Zone...Mars too...I dunno...anyway, I came to the conclusion that if you put a ball of water in outer space it would freeze rock hard...which, as it worked out, is what the ice mountains on Pluto look to be...Padres made out...to top of 2nd...Arcia with lead off hit...another hit...Ward up...

“This is one of the youngest surfaces we’ve ever seen in the solar system,” says Moore.
Unlike the icy moons of giant planets, Pluto cannot be heated by gravitational interactions with a much larger planetary body. Some other process must be generating the mountainous landscape.
“This may cause us to rethink what powers geological activity on many other icy worlds,” says GGI deputy team leader John Spencer of the Southwest Research Institute in Boulder, Colo.
The mountains are probably composed of Pluto’s water-ice “bedrock.”

liner down the right side...rookie first at bat hit!...run scores...Angels 1-0...a double no less...Young up no outs...so, so it's a muddles what happens to water...outer space is cold, next to absolute zero. so pretty much everywhere water freezes solid...but then, there's the circumstance of ablation, or evaporation, or, I dunno...those mountains on Pluto don't look to be evaporating...with no surface pressure in the vacuum, thought was water would evaporate...which it certainly would if liquid...a puzzle...but for my snowball I didn't need to solve it...and it was enough of a mystery to permit the realm of possibility!...all a fantasy needs!...another run scored on another hit, I think...then Ward thrown out coming home on fc...Barria was the hitter, now on first...Angels 2-0...so, I dreamt up my fantastic Snowball Space Ship...then, I made it a mile in diameter...thinking back on it, why not ten?...no limit really...the hollow earth folk might take to this!...in the center was a nuclear reactor, or some such, which kept things warm, and liquid...moving out from the enter, things would get cooler, until finally the frozen rock hard exterior...frozen by the coldness of space...I could easily see this working away from the sun...and wondered how close to the sun before it melted...that, that is how I arrived at my notion of the Goldilocks Zone...so, I keep watching reports of what water does on the surface of Mars...latest is that there is some at the poles, beneath ices, and it is briny, which makes it's freezing point higher...fresh water freezes quicker than saltwater...which is a new feature for my Snow Ball!...hadn't thought of that...and, now, :), thinking on it, I've come up with some new wrinkles!...space stations/space ships are often shown rotating somehow...this to provide artificial gravity...thought had been to have the inhabitants of the Snow Ball just swim about...now, now I would have it spinning...and at the equator earth G's...artificial gravity the same as earths...and the frozen underside of the outer shell would be the surface the inhabitants would live on...in the 'sky' would be the 'sun'...the nuclear power plant at the center keeping the interior liquid...above the ice floor would be a ceiling, a 'hull' just like a submarine...well...at the middle the 'sun', then water kept warm by it (full of sea creatures of course!), then a sphere that walls off the liquid water, then maybe another sphere for a floor before the final sphere. the frozen crust surface...my favorite feature of the crust back then, was it solved the 'air lock' problem...how to get in and out of space craft...when an entering space craft landed on the frozen surface, it would heat up the surface beneath it and drop through to the inside...reverse this to exit to outer space!...well, all this back then was spit balling, throwing spaghetti at the wall...'cept the wall wasn't there!...just notions sailing into outer space...literally and figuratively, seeing how net signals broadcast up to satellites!...where's the game?...runner, Fletcher on third...one out...Simmons up...two out...Angels make out...to bottom of 3rd...so, it worked out that each circular location in the Snowball would be something...I probably lifted this from movie/book Journey to the Center of the Earth...I've never been content with the earth being magma just a few miles down...at the center, one would be weightless, wouldn't they?...for sometime that thoughtHobby!...a round globe space ship/space station needn't be water...it could be stone...which is what asteroids and moons and even planets are...I don't know why space ships/space stations are always depicted as being made of metal, like airplanes...seems a no brainer to make them of stone...stone would shield against impacts, and radiation...of course it's heavy as heck...but in outer space, in orbits, everything is weightless...I got kind of excited when that rogue asteroid from interstellar space came sailing into the solar system...it had an unusual shape...

Scientists are trying to learn everything that they can from the first interstellar asteroid they have ever observed crossing into our Solar System. Spotted less than two weeks ago, the object is now whizzing across the constellation Pisces and, in a couple of months, will be too faint and far away for even the largest telescopes to see.

anyway, I found Atlantis...leastwise where it was, or still might be...thinking on circular locations brought to mind the round Zodiac of Dendera, and the Shield of Achilles...Homer's description of the shield begins with the center, then describes each distinctive shell/sphere going outwards...the Dendera Zodiac has the circumpolar stars in the center...like the stele with sun representations at the top, the circular artistries have something of import at the center...(a puzzle in the horizontal arrangements...with the Egyptians and Sumerians there is often the square throne with the king sitting on it to one side, right side?...the throne, I'm thinking, is a 'sun' representation)...it's a natural step to put something top center in a vertical arrangement...and too to put something at the center in a circular arrangement...well, the sun is at the center of the solar system...stars in the galaxy spiral around the black hole at the center, or some such...me and you are at the middle of me and you, vertically speaking!...lol...hmmph...this gets back to the water drop and ripples...and that for sometime!...Angels got another run...and then, then there is Plato's description of Atlantis...Angels made out...to bottom of 3rd?...home run for Padres...two out double...Padres make out...to top of 5th...Angels 3-1...

The dialogues claim to quote Solon, who visited Egypt between 590 and 580 BC; they state that he translated Egyptian records of Atlantis.[
... ... ...
Plato asserted that the Egyptians described Atlantis as an island consisting mostly of mountains in the northern portions and along the shore and encompassing a great plain in an oblong shape in the south "extending in one direction three thousand stadia [about 555 km; 345 mi], but across the center inland it was two thousand stadia [about 370 km; 230 mi]." Fifty stadia [9 km; 6 mi] from the coast was a mountain that was low on all sides ... broke it off all round about ... the central island itself was five stades in diameter [about 0.92 km; 0.57 mi].
... ... ...
Poseidon carved the mountain where his love dwelt into a palace and enclosed it with three circular moats of increasing width, varying from one to three stadia and separated by rings of land proportional in size. The Atlanteans then built bridges northward from the mountain, making a route to the rest of the island. They dug a great canal to the sea, and alongside the bridges carved tunnels into the rings of rock so that ships could pass into the city around the mountain; they carved docks from the rock walls of the moats. Every passage to the city was guarded by gates and towers, and a wall surrounded each ring of the city. The walls were constructed of red, white, and black rock, quarried from the moats, and were covered with brass, tin, and the precious metal orichalcum, respectively.

The International Space Station's 3-D printer completed the first phase of a NASA technology demonstration by printing a tool with a design file transmitted from the ground to the printer. The tool was a ratchet wrench.
... ... ...
"If you can transmit a file to the station as quickly as you can send an email, it opens up endless possibilities for all the types of things that you can make from CubeSat components to experiment hardware,” Werkheiser said. "We even may be able to make objects that previously couldn't even be launched to space."
... ... ...
Except for the ratchet, the other 19 objects were preprogrammed into the printer before it left Earth.

However, Sir William Smith, in his "Bible Dictionary," points out that John Selden, among others, consider it a possibility. In the book "Pythagoras: Greek philosopher" it states; "Nazaratus, the Assyrian, one of Pythagoras' masters, was supposed to be the prophet Ezekiel, and Thomas Stanley's Life of Pythagoras says that Ezekiel and Pythagoras flourished together.

Ezekiel a favorite of the Mystereons...Jewish tradition has that that one shouldn't even read about Ezekiel until one is forty years old...
quote
Ezekiel in the last chapters of his book describes a temple that would be built in the future. When Ezekiel prophesied this new temple, the old temple built by Solomon had been destroyed and lay in ruins. He spends nine chapters describing this new temple along with the land and city. Matthew Henry writes, “Here is one continued vision, beginning at this chapter (40), to the end of the book, which is justly looked upon to be one of the most difficult portions of scripture in all the book of God. The Jews will not allow any to read it till they are thirty years old, and tell those who do read it that, though they cannot understand every thing in it, ‘when Elias comes he will explain it.’

Ezekiel’s “vision” of the Merkabah, or wheeled chariot, as more likely to be a spaceship or space shuttle used by an advanced species to reach out to humans.
Erich von Däniken is one of the biggest proponents of this theory, providing a very compelling argument for an alternative interpretation of the Book of Ezekiel. So, compelling that his theory even reversed the entire thesis of a NASA scientist’s book aimed at disproving his claim.
... ... ...
However, the evidence was overwhelming and Blumrich had an epiphany. Ezekiel was undoubtedly describing an advanced spacecraft. Blumrich even used Ezekiel’s description of the craft to patent his own version of an omnidirectional wheel.
