The mural, which consists of images of snakes and human heads carved into an adobe wall, measures about three feet tall and nine feet long, and stands at the entrance to a ceremonial hall.

The mural may have been created during a drought and subsequent famine, since other reliefs at the site depict emaciated people.

supporting the sky with their arms stretched out like horizontal scaffolding
b) The figure stretching around the edge of the tableau is inspired by depictions of the Egyptian sky goddess Nut, who often has Geb the god of the earth and fertility lying below, sometimes with his male member erect which so happens to be placed where it looks almost as if it inspired Giger with his depiction of the chest bursting from the victim image.
Stele of Ankh-ef-en-Khonsu, dating to the late Dynasty 25/early Dynasty 26.
This image is interesting in the way there's the winged sun disk placed
beneath the arching body of the sky goddess and also there is the circular
form in the centre of the biomechanoid goddess' body. This stele
has been a source of fascination for Aleister Crowley and became a
central point of his Thelema philosophy. HR Giger took a great interest
in Aleister Crowley's works although was not a practicer of his magic rituals.

The Acquisition
In 1902, a landowner working on his property accidentally discovered a subterranean built tomb covered by a tumulus (mound). His investigations revealed the remains of a parade chariot as well as bronze, ceramic, and iron utensils together with other grave goods. Following the discovery, the finds passed through the hands of several Italian owners and dealers who were responsible for the appearance of the chariot and related material on the Paris art market. There they were purchased in 1903 by General Luigi Palma di Cesnola, the first director of The Metropolitan Museum of Art. The Monteleone chariot is the best preserved example of its kind from ancient Italy before the Roman period.
... ... ...
The three panels of the car represent the main artistic achievement. Scholarly opinion agrees that the style of the decoration is strongly influenced by Greek art, particularly that of Ionia and adjacent islands such as Rhodes. The choice of subjects, moreover, reflects close knowledge of the epics recounting the Trojan War.

This famous scene from the north wall of Medinet Habu is often used to illustrate the Egyptian campaign against the Sea Peoples in what has come to be known as the Battle of the Delta. Whilst accompanying hieroglyphs do not name Egypt's enemies, describing them simply as being from "northern countries", early scholars noted the similarities between the hairstyles and accessories worn by the combatants and other reliefs in which such groups are named.
The Sea Peoples remain unidentified in the eyes of most modern scholars, and hypotheses regarding the origin of the various groups are the source of much speculation.[ Existing theories variously propose equating them with several Aegean tribes, raiders from Central Europe, scattered soldiers who turned to piracy or who had become refugees, and links with natural disasters such as earthquakes or climatic shifts.

This paper follows the iconography of the 12th century BC Philistine ‘feathered helmets’ from the Medinet Habu reliefs in Egypt to Cyprus, the Levant and the Aegean, establishing key components of the helmet and its decoration. Possiblematerial remains of such helmets found in 12th century Greece are then com- pared with the iconographic evidence.
