The Star in a Jar

A  text only post, and about history, afield from fauna and flora, sort of...and grim, so dear readers, a caution to read on...

Well, before I take a dive into the Dirac Sea, I need to explain how I got to the edge of it!

A few days back, one of my web searches brought me to yet another talk about Black Holes, specifically if gravity is trapped in them like Light is said to be...reason Black Holes are black is they have such strong gravity that light can't emit, or 'escape'...but apparently, and I'm lost right away considering this, Gravity can reach out from a Black Hole and bring Stars and Interstellar Gasses into it....

...not long ago, Astronomers were observing a Star at the Center of the Galaxy, where there is a Black Hole, and it was on an orbit that might take it into the Black Hole...one scientist has it that when a Star or large Planet falls into the Black Hole, it explodes, or something like that, and sends out a wave, or something, through out the Galaxy...and these waves in the past have reached the earth causing catastrophic events...brb...

Scientists around the world are tracking a doomed cloud of gas as it makes a daring approach toward the monster black hole at the center of our Milky Way galaxy, a cosmic encounter that might reveal new secrets on how such supermassive black holes evolve.
