Deer Running

Slept in right up to get ready for work time.....sunny blueblue warm on the walk to work....at Lunch: paddled to Ozone Beach, and was able to sit awhile on the Round Boulder, water at my feet....Merced even higher....Robins, Sandpiper, Grosbeak about...heard calls anyway...and Merganser Pair floating and paddling about on the other side of the River...faraway pics....picked up, and back at the Path, Deer about...a bookend I thought, as Doe was on the Patio of Last Chance when I left for Lunch...pic...from the Path, One Doe took off running right across in front of me...sequence pics....and then Young Buck, from in front of the Rooms, hopped over the Path Rope and took up pursuit....see clip of sequence stills....very cool....report Bear has been visiting Last Chance in the wee hours...

Oil Spill: Blue Dog joins the Fray....which reminded me of 'Blue Bear's' painting that shows up in the searches...and a google image search, gulf oil spill birds, turned up a technical paper on the effects of the Exxon spill in Prince William Sound, which strikes some encouraging notes, Nature has ways to deal with the oil, which was related today too in the Chronic story about the Pemex '79 spill in the Gulf...a 'pelican mired in oil', or 'sitting in oil' search will bring up thousands of pics in google's images, most from news services whose websites are so heavy with ads and clips and such, that one loses patience....and not to mope about in the pics, but one, the Pelican in the surf line with wings out, beak agape, stands out...and here's a sardonic clip of Brown Pelican from IBRC's blog.....
