Notes: game on...on the radio...afternoon in Oakland, Angels and A's...and A's up 3-1 bottom of 3rd...Shoemaker on mound for Angels...too tired to think...spent all morning moving the stuff off the driveway...none of it mine!...jammed as much as I could into the garage...the rest, a lot!, put under the back patio roof on the planter shelves...I've regressed...when I came back to the old house, what?, five years ago about this time, those selfsame shelves were chocabloc full of stuff...took like two years to get it gone...now the self same looking stuff is back!...I dunno...roommates!...city sent me a note asking I remove the stuff, and paint the house, and water the front yard and keep it green with flowers and such...sigh...I wanted to paint the house right...sandblast, stucco, window frame repairs...Piscoty hits a three run homer...he's trouble..he did the same last night...Shoe done...A's 5-1...undercoat, good paint...first step was to get an airless spray gun, and steam washer...always short of funds for all that!...so, I'll scrape and sand the woodwork, brush on the same color, light rustic blue...and roll out the stucco, same white...easy and quick enough to do...but I did have some luck!...was sitting on the front step looking disconsolate at the old sprinkler check valve...I thought it was done...I had disconnected some plastic pipe in the battle with the shut off valve...and I thought that was the old sprinkler system...but then I got to thinking, and looked more closely at the check valve...this is one of those things turned on with the forked sprinkler key...everyone's WAS scepter!...and, feeling about the pipe coming out of the ground, discovered it was copper...house was re-piped with copper...wth...got a channel locks and turned the valve...and...wala...three of the old rainbird sprinklers popped up and gurgled!!!...I still have sprinklers!...sorta...soaking the ground now to dig down and check everything...they're just gurgling...likely have to get some new ones...but, now I have an easy route to water a lawn, as the pipes are in, and the check valve looks to be working...I used to water it all the time, but it is one of those things that are so automatic, that I completely confused myself trying to recollect how the sprinklers worked...the ones in the backyard still may work, I'm thinking...I'd given up watering the back yard...everything lawn was dried out gone when I came back...time was devil/bermuda grass got enough moisture from morning due and such, that there was always some kind of green grass, but no more...no more fogs, no more snail trails on the sidewalks...this summer the area in the sun to the right of the Jacaranda's tree shade has gone to just dirt...and I was sprinkling often enough to keep it green, I thought...it's just too hot...A's making more trouble...A's 6-1...the devil grass is still there...the roots...another hit and rbi...A's 7-1...Angels still have ten games left...I hit the devil grass roots digging with the shovel...like digging through cement when ground is dry...so, the soaking...another hit...A's 9-1...well, I'm tired, and content to rest and endure this shellacking!...maybe I'll think of something...like what kind of grass seed...Bermuda grass I guess...another bloop rbi hit...another hit...A's 12-1...tropical fish patterns...fly out to right...to top of 5th....

Reef fish have developed many ingenious specialisations adapted to survival on the reefs.
Some recreational SCUBA divers keep lists of fish species they have observed while diving, especially in tropical marine environments
