Notes: fleur de lis...a follow on from yesterday...in just a sec!...first I need to retrieve Mr. Hooke...

Robert Hooke, holding a hanging chain, which forms a catenary curve

unquote...from two posts back...this post one hundred fourteenth in a series...see previous...that's probably the simplest most elegant 'get' I've seen...and the arch has that 'splay' I was going on about yesterday...Hooke, I found, messed with cymatics too!...

quote

On July 8, 1680, Robert Hooke was able to see the nodal patterns associated with the modes of vibration of glass plates. Hooke ran a bow along the edge of a glass plate covered with flour, and saw the nodal patterns emerge.[

Hooke is famous...or would be...would be as famous as Sir Isaac Newton...'cept he and Newton didn't get along...some back and forth about who really worked out gravity...Newton could claim the falling apple bit...another simple and elegant demonstration...and, if one looks at the two...the drooping string...the falling apple...well...my understanding of science is like pre historic...game on...on the radio...Angels and Oakland in Oakland...Angels play Oakland a lot to finish up the season...there are no contemporary portraits of Hooke...said the Royal Society had one, but came under Newton's care, and, some benign neglect later, and it was gone...pic posted is from after his life...and looking at it, I could see it had some heraldry/emblems/enigmas...turns out each thing is some thing he experimented with...or invented...I think H. G. Wells lifted Hooke to be his wacky professor in movieFirstMenInTheMoon, if the movie character is faithful to Well's character in the book...which I think I read, but can't recall, and would have to check...Skaggs back and on the mound for Angels...Calhoun up...0-1...Calhoun, Fernandez, Trout...Fletcher on DL?...K...'a bullpen day' for Oakland...there aren't enough strong starter arms to go around the league!...ground out...Trout up...comebacker...123...to bottom of 1st...

quote

Hooke was irascible, at least in later life, proud, and prone to take umbrage with intellectual competitors, though he was by all accounts also a staunch friend and ally and was loyal always to the circle of ardent Royalists with whom he had his early training at Wadham College, particularly Christopher Wren. His reputation suffered after his death and this is popularly attributed to a dispute with Isaac Newton over credit for his work on gravitation,

The Hertford Manuscript by Richard Cowper, first published in 1976. It features a "manuscript", which reports the Time Traveller's activities after the end of the original story. According to this manuscript, the Time Traveller disappeared, because his Time Machine had been damaged by the Morlocks without him knowing it. He only found out when it stopped operating during his next attempted time travel. He found himself on 27 August 1665, in London during the outbreak of the Great Plague of London. The rest of the novel is devoted to his efforts to repair the Time Machine and leave this time period before getting infected with the disease. He also has an encounter with Robert Hooke.

The magnetosphere is the region above the ionosphere that is defined by the extent of the Earth's magnetic field in space. It extends several tens of thousands of kilometers into space, protecting the Earth from the charged particles of the solar wind and cosmic rays that would otherwise strip away the upper atmosphere, including the ozone layer that protects the Earth from harmful ultraviolet radiation.

quote

Currently, a select group of eight scientists and musical experts are trying to decipher the symbols engraved on these cubes. It is believed that the vibrations representing each musical note were first visually created by covering a thin brass plate with sand and then strumming a musical note with a bow placed against the plate. The visual representation of the musical note could then be seen in the distinctive patterns that the vibrations of that note created in the shifted sand.
... ... ...

So with the addition of the oscillating magnetic field, we are combining two of the most powerful natural healing agents in the field of bioresonance or vibrational medicine.

quote

The Usekh or Wesekh is a personal ornament, a type of broad collar or necklace, familiar to many because of its presence in images of the ancient Egyptian elite. Deities, women, and men were depicted wearing this jewellery. One example can be seen on the famous gold mask of Tutankhamun. The ancient word wsẖ can mean "breadth" or "width" in the Ancient Egyptian language and so this adornment is often referred to as the broad collar.

When referring to St James, a scallop shell valve is displayed with its convex outer surface showing. In contrast, when the shell refers to the goddess Venus (see below), it is displayed with its concave interior surface showing.[

Alternatively, the scallop resembles the setting sun, which was the focus of the pre-Christian Celtic rituals of the area[citation needed]. To wit, the pre-Christian roots of the Way of St. James was a Celtic death journey westwards towards the setting sun, terminating at the End of the World (Finisterra) on the "Coast of Death" (Costa da Morte) and the "Sea of Darkness" (i.e., the Abyss of Death, the Mare Tenebrosum, Latin for the Atlantic Ocean, itself named after the Dying Civilization of Atlantis).[
