CedarCedar

Was on the way to Last Chance, and sighted Blue Jays diving and scolding high up one of the Tall Cedars by the Rooms Lobby...and there was Hawk, Cedar!...first sighting of Cedar since the Storm...had the 20x with, and took some pics and clip...and then thought maybe Cedar would stay perched, and went back to the Cabin for the digi and tripod....returned, and Cedar still perched...set up on the Sidewalk and took some pics and clips, while being dove on my own self by tourists!...'Whatcha look'n at??'....Cedar was content to soak up Sunshine and survey the scene...I picked up and went to Breakfast...afterwards, checked the Cedar, and Cedar still perched...more pics and clips from across the Road...pointed Cedar out to my neighbors...and...picked up again, and with time, went out and made a circuit of Bobcat Meadow...Juncos at the Oak With Branch That Arcs Over Half Dome, and Acorn Woodpeckers about...otherwise quiet....sunny blueblue and warm....up late last night reading about Joseph Walker, Captain Walker, the mountaineer who came close to being the first white man to see the Valley...diary account of one of Walker's men on the web...they almost starved in the High Country of Tuolumne, but it was November about, and there must have been heavy snow....they couldn't find any game to hunt until almost down from the Sierra on the West Side...which is as much as I was able to garner from the tale regarding the Fauna and Flora then...diarist does describe the Trees a bit...and Wild Pumpkins....search 'Captain Walker diary' should bring up site...Walker did a great many things, and seems a bit lost to history--Hollywood has never done a movie about him to my knowledge!!...and his life is very movie worthy!... anyway..got to thinking that Little Brids like ground cover, like the small branches of fallen Trees...thought about that looking at the Oaks fallen into the Creek yesterday....might be a good thing not to be too meticulous in clearing the fallen Trees....Two Does were about Lower Falls nibbling fallen Cedar Branches...and the Does and Fawns and one Two Point Buck were in the Oak Grove nibbling the dry Oak leaves...oh...in fact, at Ozone Beach, where the erosion fallen Cedar and Cottonwoods still rest in the Merced, I often see the Little Birds hopping about...anyway...Walker apparently missed the Ridge above Yosemite Creek that Tioga Road follows, though he did go by Lake Tenaya it seems...oh..it's curious what took them so long and what their route was!!!
