Kestrel

After Breakfast, geared up and paddled to the Village...crossed the Creek at the Deer House...just barely crossed with one hop...out through Bobcat Meadow...Clouds moving along the Rims...pics...oh...Little Birds were about the Path in the Backyard...tried for pics...and Robins still in the Perfect Dogwood...Shuttled back to Last Chance, and thought to go to Ozone Beach to look for Little Birds...wet Ground, Sun coming out, seemed likely to see Little Birds...but at Ozone Beach, saw Hawk flyover, Cedar?, and followed, eventually out to Two Top Pine Meadow....and saw Big Wings, bigger than Hawk it seemed, but sighted from the Path, and Big Wings beyond Two Top...followed, and when I got to the Snag Willows, sighted what I thought was Peregrine Falcon perched, but on review, saw Falcon was Kestrel...tried to get close, but while looking at the camera for setting, Kestrel flew off....sat awhile at the Burnt Log....Meadow knockdown scenic....sighted in flight what I thought were Two Bandtails, but on review, and sighting through the scope, saw Two Doves--though Pigeons are a kinda Dove too, I learn!...set up the digiscope...pics and clip...Doves hopped down out of sight under the Snag, where they had perched....sat, and waited, for Kestrel, Doves, ??....seemed like a Hundred Violet Green Swallows high overhead....and Kestrel flew to the Cottonwood...watched through the binocs, and saw several times Kestrel swoop down to the Meadow, once hovering just over the Grasses, another time, looked that Kestrel caught a Small Snake....Kestrel flew off behind and beyond Two Top....sat awhile....quiet...picked up, and to Last Chance for late Lunch...and to the Cabin for long nap...a storm clearing day, cool, patches of blue sometime, light breeze, clouds along the Walls and Rims....oh...visited the Museum again for pic of the painting of the Saloon...took pics of other paintings and things in the show too...little painting is knockdown...
