Redshoulder Hawk

After Breakfast, Shuttled over to the Village....started to take the Shuttle back, but diverted--Shuttle crowded!--and paddled out to the Road from Shuttle Stop 9, which is next to the Club House....as I was walking along the Road back behind the Club House, Hawk, Redshoulder, Coop!, flew over head and behind me....I trotted back, and Coop was posing...finally got one of those much sought after pics!...Coop a bit far, and the pic a bit blurry, but okay!....Coop flew to another Tree...pics and clip...and then flew off low into the Trees...see clip....piping is startled Ground Squirrel I think....dont think Coop has a call like that...returned to my original intention, out to Bobcat Meadow....with time, thought to make the Outside Loop...quiet...not so scenic as yesterday...when all the way around to Ozone Beach, paddled out along the Diversion Channel to Creek's End...quiet..but heard Hawk, Cedar I think, over by the Deer House, and when I got there, back by the
Great Turf....I had to have been right under Cedar, but couldn't locate--too many leaves on the Trees...stood quiet and listened for more calls, but quiet, and no luck...time...got feet wet crossing Creek once, so walked the long way around by Lower Falls to the Cabin...cool hazy overcast. blue patches....at Lunch: at six fifteen with overcast, not much light!...and very quiet at Ozone Beach, but heard a loud splashing-Fawn crossing the Merced downriver by the Ponderosa with the View of Half Dome..Mama Doe and Two Fawns thereabout....faraway pics...sat awhile at the Fallen Cedar...Robins, Song Sparrow, Ouzel, Acorns, about...
