Morning Walk

Out and about before Sunup...heard what I think is Pygmy Owl over by Lower Falls....first time in awhile...paddled back to Creek's End...Mama Doe and Two Fawns were at the Diversion Channel...while doing clip, began to hear Owls...Aspen and Cottonwood...Fawns' ears perked up...and then they ran...pronged...off to catch up with Mama Doe...picked up and followed the sound...somewho, Mama Doe and Two Fawns kept pace with me as I went Tree to Tree....AspenOrCottonwood finally perched in Oak long enough to set up the digiscope...long clip...six minutes!....reason for length being I left to go follow Hawk's call...Hawk was in the Three Cedars at Creek's End...other end of the Woods from Owl...pic...and would have clip...albeit dim and blurry...but deleted by accident...the 20x's trash button is right where one holds the camera while reviewing...it takes two steps to delete...first the trash button..then the function button...it asks in the window if one wants to delete...but when reviewing..and distracted...it's easy to think one is starting a clip, and instead deleting ...it was just a little clip...Hawk actually flew back to Tree near Owl...and then over to the Merced......sighted Grey Squirrels chasing one another...clip...and on the clip there is Hawk's call...tried to locate, but no luck...and when I went back to retrieve the tripod and digi...saw Hawk after Grey Squirrel in the small Lodgpole Pine...hard to see in mpeg...blurry pic up too...it's Red Shoulder...Coop!....very cool....picked up and walked back to the Creek, and across to Bobcat Meadow...two Doe pics along the way...and Shuttled over to Siberia for Breakfast....and back to the Cabin for nap!...midday, Shuttled over to the Post Office...and on way back, decided to hop off at the A Rooms to looksee for the Rock Slide...lots of barrier tape up...all the north side of the Road across from parking...but little white dust...had just the 20x along...but had picked up lunch at the Store...and paddled out to the Backpacker Camp to sit...Camp nearly empty....made a rest stop, and on the tiki tiles, dropped the camera...much consternation...looked okay, but lens error...little ding on the front of the lens housing....not much to do, but go back to the Cabin and try to figure it out...and after some online searches for clues...and even an email to camera help!... figured out that the housing bezel pulls right off...just little sticky things under it...with that off, still lens error..but I wiggled and prodded the lens, and something clicked into place...and it worked!...back in business...watched a couple Bones episodes, then out for walk...checked Woods, and think I heard Owls, but was diverted by Bongos...took a clip of Mallard at Ozone Beach with Bongos' soundtrack...guitars too...making of salsa!...clip for sometime...paddled along the Merced to Creek's End, and across to the Deer House..light all gone from Half Dome...and back through the Backyard...a bookend day...seeing first and last light....sunny hot blue with clouds..and ghostly breeze..breeze yesterday too...if wind up above, trouble for the firefighters...saw map of where fire burned, and is burning...swaths on either side of 120 from the Tunnels to nearing White Wolf...hope not as bad as the colors indicated!...brb...oh..the camera was still broke when I saw the map...park service very good about updates posted on the bulletine boards...get pic tomorrow!...wait..here's map from Big Google...link:
