Paddled out to Chapel Meadow, around noon, when the Sun moves past Sentinel and begins to shine on the Meadow, and took a seat on the
Boardwalk...waitedwaited...listenedlistened...skygazed...for Hawk...kindofa single minded walkabout today...the Sky, Magnificent Blue....but quiet, and picked up after awhile, and a couple Raven pics, and continued across Swinging Bridge and out to the Broken Cottonwood...took a seat, and waitedwaited, listenedlistened...Rainbow on Upper Falls...and one Blue Jay sorta scolding in the Tall Pines over by the Bridge kept taking my attention...finally in one of my looksees over thataway, I sighted Hawk in Cottonwood...Red Tail...was able to get digi pics, but Hawk flew off across the Merced before I could take clip...followed down to the Shore, but no luck....two Downy Woodpeckers about...pics..and sighting them, I sighted the Falls through the Cottonwoods...pic up...picked up, and went over the Bridge and across the Road to check thereabout for Tracks by going up to the Talus...couple Deer Tracks, and Grey Squirrel Hops...no Bear Tracks yet...back across the Road and along the Path to the Boardwalk...kinda really anxious to see Hawk in the Cottonwood Tree Line...and was past the 25 Speed Limit sign, and heard Hawk calling aways back along the River...hurried back, out the Boardwalk, and along the River past the Bend, and sighted Hawk, Young Red Shoulder, lit up in the late Sun like yesterday, and calling...clip up....Hawk flew off across the River to the Woods...flew about and called over there awhile, then with real luck, I saw Hawk fly low back over the River to the Tree Line...I angled out into the Meadow, and sighted Hawk...dark pic in branches up....the Terrific Light was gone, but I thought to still get pic of Hawk with Falls in background...but Hawk flew off back across the River...back along the Path, I was up to the Chapel, and sighted Hawk, Adult Red Shoulder, flying low from Chapel Bridge to a perch on low snag branch of one of the Two Ponderosas....Coop!...very pleased just to see Coop, and was able to get the pics and clips up...Coop took off and flew across the Meadow my way, and across the Road by the Maple Tree...sighted with the new camera, and blurry sequence pics....one up with Cascades in background...sunny, magnificent blue, and cool....the walk started out so quiet, and feel very fortunate to see all three Hawks...these are the three I first saw back in Fall of 2007....thought to finish the walkabout at the Cabin, but still light, and Flicker calling in the Backyard...so paddled out to Creek's End and around through Woods, making the Little Loop, but quiet...and only a few fresh Deer Tracks...
