Kinglet

After Breakfast, Shuttled over to the Village to pick up mail...diverted, and trotted back to the Oak Grove--thought I saw Hawk...raining a little, and no luck...returned, and got the mail, and Shuttled back to the Cabin...when I got to the Backyard, heard Pileated Woodpecker call in the Dogwoods..lots of Robins about too, and maybe Flicker...gathered the tripod, and set up between the Trees, and sighted Pileated...a clip!...faraway, but okay, and for sometime--plan to put the best of the Dogwood clips together...Dogwoods were on my right, Maple, Dogwood, and Cedar on my left...Pileated flew to the Cedar, then back to the Three Dogwoods, and then back to the Cedar...I have so many things to adjust with the newer camera, and wasn't having much luck...Maple Leafs right over head, and a mixed flock of Little Birds...Kinglets and Mountain Chickadees, were almost within arms reach...tried for pic...from maybe fifteen blurry pics, I have one in focus..pic up of Male Ruby Crowned Kinglet...very cool...some Robin clips....lost sight of Pileated while sighting the Kinglets...and time...really didn't want to leave off!...but picked up...and when I came around the front of the Cabin, Pileated was on the Cedar, under the Eves, right by the Cabin Door!...oh, I wanted that pic!...but Pileated was startled and flew off, calling, across the Road and Parking...hooey...tomorrow another effort at the Dogwoods...the Rain last Night brought the Birds out...hope Birds are as active tomorrow...sunny, cloudy, rain showers, cool, clear tonight, stars shining...at Lunch: tried to do another Owl drawing, a little larger, the middle pic of Alder Owl post...and I couldn't get Owl's eyes right...Owl's features are in much the same place as ours, and faces are very hard to draw, as our acuity to pick out expressions and facial features is very refined...any little mistake!...I drew and erased and drew and erased, and in the transparent watercoloists' parlance, the little drawing became 'mud'....tomorrow!
