Wedge Surf

It wasn't a big day at the Wedge, but enough Surf to draw a crowd...another Cyclone this Tuesday, and I imagine then the Parking Full electric sign over the entrance to the Peninsula will be on then!...waves and riders, nearly all belly boarders riding those light foam boards, drew my attention too...set all the fish gear down behind the onlookers, and wedged my way into a spot, which was pretty much the spot, after seeing in google images, search Wedge Newport, where most photos are taken from!...taking surfing pics is a bit like taking fireworks pics, the pics really don't have the feel that the waves' sound gives when the Wedge is breaking...overhead were two drones with go pro cameras...on a big day they'll likely get some unique, for now!, clips...time was on a Big Wedge Day, with the off shore Santa Ana Wind blowing, I'd sit and watch my friends body surf the Wedge, maybe a dozen people about!...clear warm light breeze...and no fish...I've been out in surf as big as in pics, and maybe bigger, being nearsighted the waves always looked giant!, but at 42 street, before the breakwater berms...the Wedge is like a black diamond ski run...and when the red flag's up, take care!
