A Meadow

Watercolor is from a reference photo, and it was done 'in studio'...I don't know what the French term is for that, but it's the opposite of 'plein air', or outside from life...the studio was the Kitchen Cabin...and it was the first one I did in the Valley where I used masking fluid like I was taught at Palomar...in the crop, one can see how the blue pooled against the mask that held back the paint...I find the masking fluid problematic, for the pooling, and too, applying it...one uses an old brush, or one of those rubber brushes, as the fluid is very hard to clean off a brush...and most likely, the old brush doesn't draw well, the masking being so thick, so line work gets messed up...oh, don't like it...it's too much fussing and strategizing! (here's youtube clip on how to use it)...sunny blue then cloudy grey with lightning flashes far away...strange weather...warm...took the White Truck to Home Depot and picked up material for shelving...very nice to have transport for long lumber and such...idea for the shelving is to use eye hooks on the old garage's two by four exposed framing, run a clete along with 1 and 1/2 inch square furring strips, set one shelf edge on the clete, and the other edge will have eye hooks too, and connect those to the other eye hooks with that rope and knot arrangement I've been using on the frames, so shelving will be hanging from the rope connection...tomorrowmorrow will see how this goes...:)
